I came home from getting my haircut this morning to this

Jack has so much to worry about right now. He has to take care of her plus eat all those cheerios out of the pink bowl.

This is what Lottie Loodle Bug looks like when I come home and she doesn’t have to put up with that bottle.

This is what she looks like when she’s done eating and gets to take a nice long nap.

I absolutely love being Lottie’s mom. She has this way of making me feel like I’m doing a fabulous job.

By the way–My husband is taking the next 5 days off of work just cuz I asked him too! We celebrated our 5 day John and Brielle marathon tonight with pedicures. Mostly I got a pedicure and mostly John did all the work.

That I’ve actually been blog tagged several times but I’ve never responded on my blog because I feel self indulgent going on and on about myself but bear with me while I indulge…

My favorite color is red. There was a time when my whole house was decorated with red but I’ve been phasing that out for the last few years.
My favorite dessert is chocolate, what else is there?

My favorite water bottle is my pink Nalgene. Although, my sister keeps reminding me that it’s got some kind of toxic chemical in it and I need to get a new one but I love my pinky pig.
My favorite anytime CD is the MP3 discs that my husband makes for my car. They are always different and always contain lots of HIS favorite music. Hooray for John—bringing the mix tapes back!
My favorite place to be is in the pool, with John watching the kids.

My favorite time of day is ….well my life is kind of a blur but I really love the 3 or 4 hours after church when I don’t have to worry about preparing for Sunday for a whole week.
My favorite holiday is our anniversary

My least favorite thing to do is deal with toddler tantrums
My least favorite thing to wear is my end of pregnancy, my finger is to swollen for my real wedding ring, replacement ring.
My least favorite place to be is stuck in is Walmart. Is it possible to get out of there in under an hour?
My secret obsession right now is finding a way to acquire a nice big house with a yard without getting stuck in Kokomo, Indiana.

I miss my family.
I have been terrible at writing thank you notes…and flossing my teeth.
I’ve met my soul mate.
I get all frantic when my house is messy. It makes John crazy, because a messy house doesn’t bother him one bit.
I sometimes wish I had long slightly wavy brown hair.
I am not a spontaneous person but sometimes I’d like to be.
I am passionate about my husband. Sometimes I can’t believe I get to kiss him every single day.

I’m homesick for my family. Did I already mention that?
I crave clothes clothes clothes. I love buying clothes.
I hate it when everyone in my family is hungry and tired and hot at the same time.
I love watching my kids entertain each other.
I will never admit to the fact that my husband has been trying to teach me how to throw a Frisbee.
I always have a running list in my mind of 4 or 5 things that I’m itching to buy. I only tell John about 2 or 3 of them usually.

I really don’t want Lasik surgery but I hate glasses and contacts are getting more and more bothersome so I don’t see any other way.
I can’t wait to hang out with my friend Nikki tomorrow.
I like to pretend that I’m far to busy and involved to waste my time on the computer but the truth is I love looking at blogs and I’d do it all day if I didn’t think my husband would start to worry.

Poopoo Party

For anyone else still here Jack pooped on the Potty today!!! We haven’t really been trying to potty train over here mostly because I’m too lazy to make it an issue. But today Jack came and grabbed me on his way to the bathroom and just plunked down and did his business. I think he was as surprised as I was. We were singing and dancing around the bathroom when John got home from work and he decided the occasion warranted a trip to try out Bob Evans Restaurant.

For anyone visiting Indiana don’t waste your time with Bob Evans Restaurant.

Making our own fun

We’ve learned that our town is the most boring town in the world. There is nothing at all to do here for kids..or for adults either. There are lots of beautiful parks with winding walkways all over town but those are all golf courses or country clubs and they will ask you to leave if you try to walk through them. (we’ve tried). There is a place to play miniature golf which we tried on a date. We were kind of hoping to see mini Mount Rushmore’s or Windmills to get your ball around but instead we found the only obstacles to maneuver around included a pipe or two sticking out of the ground or a little pile of cigarette butts. Our favorite places to hang out have become the library because they have a little area with pillows to play on and the kids consignment store because as long as I buy loads and loads of clothes they don’t complain about Jack playing with the toys. I’m not complaining–I’m just learning that next time we move I’m going to check out the town a little first. There are two big events here though they are Rib Fest and Taste of Kokomo. They are basically the same event only with different food. They are both super expensive and they are located at the court house where you are firmly reminded not to allow your children to play on the grass. We went to the Rib Fest back in June and last weekend we went to Taste of Kokomo. Jack got a balloon, we listened to a sweet bro band warm up for an hour, we dragged Jack off the grass about 30 times and then we went and got a pizza on the way home. It’s a good thing John, Jack and Lottie are so much fun to hang out with. They make everything into a party.

Sunday Afternoon

Lottie is losing all of her beautiful hair, so we’ve resigned ourselves to just helping it along.

Jack has been doing this weird stand up, crouch down thing for a while and we finally figured out that he must be learning this song in nursery.

Also, thank you for giving me so many votes about our anniversary this year. The landslide winner was the Wii but we decided we are going to buy that for Christmas since it’s too nice outside still to be playing in the house. We are going to buy a camera. So soon there are going to be some really cool pictures on here!

Our anniversary is coming up and we have some decisions to make about how we want to celebrate. John and I both want three things and we can’t decide which to get. So I’d love to hear input on which we should choose.

#1 —–Cannon Rebel

#2 —–Wii

#3 —–One night stay without kids in Chicago

I suppose eventually we will have all three but we can’t decide what we want now.

Business trip #2

So we decided to try out meeting John on his second night away and I’m so glad we did. My good friend’s husband works with John so they were there too. It was nice to have friends to hang with up there. I think Jack has a little crush on their little girl Kieli.

I think he was a little confused when we got to the hotel but once he saw her he was done with our family for the rest of our stay. We had to drag him kicking and screaming back to our room at the end of the day. We got there on Thursday afternoon and went swimming and then out to dinner. I was really nervous about the sleeping arrangements because Jack and Lottie both have been trained a little too well to sleep by themselves. It turned out ok. Lottie fell right to sleep as soon as we got to back to our room and was out for the rest of the night. Jack though was a little harder. We tried for about an hour to do it the nice way. We read to him, sang to him, stroked his back, pretended to be asleep. Nothing was working, so I physically restrained him while he screamed and tried to get loose. After about 10 minutes he was out too.

The next morning after our husbands left Nikki and I were asking the people at the front desk if there was a fun park or something around. They said “oh yes, the white river park..it’s beautiful!” So they gave us directions and we drove around for about 20 minutes trying to find it and finally we found the street and turned into White River “trailer” Park. It would have been so funny if both our kids weren’t so restless and hot in the backseat. We finally came across a little neighborhood park which was just fine for the kids to wear themselves out in.

I have to admit that I’ve known about this little business trip for about 3 months and I been dreaded it for about that long. It turned out to be nothing at all to worry about and even really fun. This is just another example of what John calls me making my life so much harder than it needs to be. I’m really going to try not to worry about these things from now on.

Today we decided to pretend we were still on vacation and we went to the “Kokomo Beach” We planned on being there all day but after a couple laps in the lazy river, a few times down the water slide and some time at this little waterfall Jack and Lottie were both hungry and tired. So we went to the park and had a picnic.

We took Lottie to her 2 month check up today even though she was 3 months 5 days ago. She weighs a healthy 12 pounds and she’s 24 1/2 inches tall, so she is apparently tall and relatively thin. Jack was the opposite at this age. My problem with her though is that she’s always trying to sit or stand up by herself even though I keep reminding her that she’s just a baby and she doesn’t need to worry about those things yet. Babies sure don’t stay babies for very long.
